Frequently asked questions
How do you handle roommates?
The registration form for Texas Prep Basketball School has a space to fill in a roommate selection. These requests will be accommodated as long as there are no conflicts (i.e., 2 campers have requested the same roommate). In the event of a conflict, the campers will be contacted to resolve the room conflict. If no roommate is selected on the registration form, the camper will be randomly assigned to a roommate based on age and grade level.
How much money should I bring to camp?
Campers will not need very much money while at camp. Campers will have a few opportunities to purchase camp shirts and other items at camp. Campers may purchase a Gatorade gym pass for the week at registration. Pizza will also be sold in the evenings. We also suggest that you do not bring anything of high value to camp.
What happens after I submit my registration?
Once your registration form and payment is submitted you will receive an email confirmation. Please keep this for your records. Once we have reached capacity for a camp location registration will be closed for that location. In this situation, a waitlist will be created and individuals may add their names to this list if they choose. In the event of cancellations from a camp, individuals on the waitlist will be contacted with registration details.
What does my tuition fee cover?
Tuition includes instruction, room and board, T-shirt, and a Personal Profile.
What if I need to cancel my registration for camp?
If you cancel for any reason 2 weeks prior to the first day of TXP, you will receive a refund of payments, less the $215 deposit. If you cancel after the 2 week mark, tuition refunds, less the $215 deposit, will be made for medical purposes only and requests must be accompanied by a physician’s letter of explanation. This letter must be received prior to the start of the school. Any participant who leaves school during the first two days due to injury will receive pro-rated credit.
What if I get injured?
Each athlete must be covered by his parent’s insurance before participating in this program. Expenses resulting from illness are the responsibility of the participant’s parent(s) or guardian. Medical aid is provided by our school trainer.
Do I need a physical?
You do not need a physical to attend camp. The registration form contains a section to complete with parent/guardian insurance information. Each athlete must be covered by parent/guardian insurance program before participating in camp. Medical aid is provided by an on-site trainer.
